The Senior Citizens Party is funded by the efforts form the Autumn Fayre and is a legend in the Thirsk community. Prior to the Senior Citizens Party a showcase of sixth form talent is performed for family and friends and ranges from the classical to the humorous and usually ends in a medley of carols. Our students are then responsible for planning and running the Senior Citizens Party which gives about 200 of our community a special festive evening. From the invitations to the transport, to the entertainment to the raffle our students work hard to provide an evening of Christmas fun and build links with the community. Conservative estimates would suggest 1,000 cups of tea are made, served and cleared up – it’s not all glamour by any means!
