THIRSK Sixth Form College Courses. Home. Why Thirsk?. Making Choices. College Life. Application Form.

Learning not only happens in a classroom and our teaching departments are keen to get out and experience their subject for real! The individual subject sections will contain more information on this but curriculum trips are varied and further engage student interest.

The Biologists and Geographers got to Dunbar to complete field work, or so they have us believe. The Artists will go to London on a day trip at the start of year 12 and as a residential in Field Work Fortnight where a full on cultural experience is had by all.

The English department tramp across the moors in search of Haworth in preparation for the Bronte study which sits within the ‘Love through the ages’ A2 course.

In addition there are non curriculum visits – the London Trip takes in as much of the capital as humanly possible with shopping, museums and two west end shows.

Trips and Visits College Life Dunbar London Art

Of course these run alongside a range of ‘whole school’ visits that are well supported by the college such as the Music Trips to various destinations including Poland and Barcelona, and Theatre Visits that have too many performances booked to mention here.

There really is no excuse for not getting involved - there is something for everyone.
